Export salvage Title question

I located a vehicle that is only slightly bashed in the LR. But it has a FL "EXport" title.

I want to keep it and drive it myself, no intention of selling it. as this is a vehicle i would never be able to afford in good condition.



Anyone knoweledgeable with FL titles?

in my state Ga a title is not required for vehicles older than 87, just a bill of sale, the bos does not even have to be notorized,



thinking of getting the VIN, just walking in and telling them its a 81 and see what happens.

When I got the tag for my 81 VW diesel rabbit pickup, I just gave them the bos that was written on a peice of notebook paper and walked out with the tag. no muss, no fuss.

Just to let you know, the tenth digit of the VIN indicates model year. So you probably won't be able to fudge on the year to the DMV.



So you mean to say in GA the state doesn't issue a title on a pre '87 vehicle? Way different then up here in MN.

Check direct with Florida DMV state that issued the title. Also you could spend 20 bucks for a carfax.com report. I did once, sort of lame, but there was good info.

Ga will issue a title, you just dont have to have it to get a tag.



A slightly bashed 91 model vehicle that costs over $65K for a '00 model on sale for $15K, just wishing i could figure out a way to tag it and drive it.
