Shock absorbing hitch?

Anyone have any experience with the pilgrim legend line of fifth wheels? We are looking at the 27BHS-M5 model and we're wondering if this is a good unit. thanks in advance for the advice.

I looked it up on my RV Consumer Guide. The closest I could get was 272 BHSS 5, 28' 5th Wheel, Avg price $21,105. 2 star rating, below normal on Reliability and Value, normal on Hwy Control. Others in that group were about the same, 2 star Rating on a scale of 0 to 5 stars. The manufacture is Pilgrim, which I have never heard of.

Grizz, I keep checking your sig... looking for that Arctic Fox ;) Are you still checking them out?

Arctic Fox, 27' is what we will get, but not this year. We plan on getting an 08. The reason is that we are building an addition to the house this year and wouldn't have time to use the RV anyway. I would hate to have a brand new 5er sitting there and not be able to use it. In the mean time if I find a good used one, 2 or 3 years old, and it's a killer deal, I'd get it. One just doesn't see any used 27' Arctic Fox on the market.

Been busy the last couple of days sorry for the slow response. The information is very helpful, Thanks.

We are also looking at a Forest River Cardinal LE 312BH, about twice the price. Anyone have any experience with one of these?

No Forest River 5er or TT are rated well. Forest River is one small notch above Fleetwood. The Cardinal LE312BH is rated 2 1/2 stars. Reliability 67, Value 64, Hwy Control 70. List price is $40,100.

For that much money consider an Arctic Fox, which are 4 star rated. They are built by Northwood. They also make the Nash, which have the same quality with less frills.
