My vent door to the HVAC controls on my 04. 5, broke on the way back from Vegas last weekend and thank God it was in OCT. I called my dealer and explained to my service writer what the probable cause was. (vent door issue) He set an appointment and I brought it in and when he looked up the extended warranty information, it was denied, to my surprize. I guess its a sign of the times because no matter who I called DENIED, DENIED, DENIED, DENIED, so that would make the first time that I came away dissatified from Dodge. With 50K on the odometer and 3 years left on the extended time its a big disappointment. The vent door is a known defect and Dodge wont recall it because its not a safety issue. Well I guess I will have to repair it myself, and at least it will be cleaned out at the same time. I repaired my 94 myself when my evaporator started leaking but that was with 110,000 miles on the odometer. What are we going to do about the 6. 7 warranty issues when Dodge is bankrupted, will Cummins warranty the engine.

I bought what they sold me, for what I thought was bumper to pumper. I know not every thing would have been covered, but something as major as that should have been covered. I guess I wont be buying a new vehicle for a long time, if I have to invest that kind of money this early into the overall picture. I buy new, so not to have this kind of expense. Live and learn, next time I do buy, the dealer will get the thousand questions just on the extended warranty. The worse part is, I think I bought the same extended warranty for my 07 C&C, I will have to check it when I get home.

That would s*ck if they mislead you. I bought mine online, but definitely bought the Max Care from Chrysler. It was expensive, but I am counting on it to pay for the blend door, and/or injectors, and or ball joints if/when they go bad. I DID get the money back warranty for an extra $100. If there are no claims filed by the end of the warranty (7 years from date of vehicle purchase) then I can file to get a refund for the cost of the warrnty, minus the $100. ALL OF THIS is assuming that Chrysler will still be around to honor a warranty. Oh well.

i bought mine aftermarket and they payed book price for repair. the dealer loved me for buying aftermarket. $1030. 00

I have had nothing fixed with any of the ext. warranties I've bought in the past.

I've found the dealers have more excuses than a crook on his way to jail, when you have a problem.

I will not buy them again.

i just had my 06 done, i have the max care, they covered the repair and gave me a rental truck. I would call dodge HQ and demand it to be fixed. this is a known problem there is no way they should not cover this under your warranty. fight them on this one, you will will.

When my truck was new the dealer sold me an aftermarket warranty. They didn't recommend the Dodge extended warranty.

I never buy the extended warranty. Waste of money IMO. If they didn't make money on it they wouldn't sell it.

You know, that is what I have always heard. This truck is the first I have ever bought the extended warranty. As luck would have it, I got lucky, the first repair that was covered under warranty made it worth it. That is not the case for the majority of folks who buy them though.
