Hi everyone,

I'm counting the days till I order my truck, however, I'm sure the Dealer either at the time of the pricing or the signing of the papers will try to sell me the Extended warrenty bit (or is it now 7 year or 100,000 miles?) - what have some of you paid for the extended warrenty so I don't go in blind on this part of the deal. I've already got invoice pricing figured out and know there is a $1500 rebate going on till first part of March.

Thanks, Michael

An extended warranty is a insurance policy. Ask how much the deductable is. I know that Daimler/Chrysler, Is about the worst at doing stuff under warranty. I cancled my extended warranty after I bought my truck (19 days) and they gave me back $1900+

and put it to the primium of my payments. Cummins warrantys for 100K, Chrysler 36K. Chrysler wouldn't even warranty a bad muffler (split down the center). Keep your $$$$$$$$$.

You might check with the dealer but I think right now they are selling all new trucks with a 7yr/100,000 mi warrantee as a part of the package!!

I sold extended service contracts for a dealer for about a year. These are a huge source of income for the dealership and prices are always negotiable. A $1500 ESC would give the dealership +/- $700 profit. Shop around for prices on the warranty just like you would for the truck. The business managers/finance guy/this is the guy who will take care of the paperwork, all work on commission and most will take a smaller profit rather than no profit. If they refuse to negotiate than someone else at another dealership will. You can buy a warranty at another dealership even though they did not sell you the truck. Good Luck!!

For extended warranty call Geico. Only available for a new vehicle. The have a bumper to bumper warranty available with a $250 deductable. costs $46 /6mos on my truck. I had a Chevy metro and it was only $6/6mos on it. they call it multi-risk coverage , good for 5 or 7 yrs and 100k I think. Haven't needed it but its there as a safety net.
