Extra money for Stage2 AFE worth it??

Guys looking between a Stage 1 and stage 2 AFE intake with the proguard filter. The price on a stage 1 is about 225 shipped and 350 for the stage two. They are the same thing except there is a bigger tube and top cover on the stage 2. Is it really worth the money? Has anyone dyno'd with both on?

I just bought the Stage 2, I like it and it helped my EGT's go down under WOT by 75*. Noise reduction was better and I like the light sound the turbo makes. Power, wasn't any different. Did 8 runs with standard box and K&N and with Stage 2. Times 0-60 were the same.

I just purchased a stage 2 from a guy on ebay for $250. I just received it today, and will install it tomorrow.

I haven't seen that actual difference of the stage 1 to stage 2, but I would not buy the stage 2 due to the price for starters and also the fact that there is no real gain over the stage 1. Does anyone have a link to some pictures of the stage 1 to stage 2, to illustrate the differences?

So the Stage 2 is quieter than the stage 1?



Does stage 2 reduce EGT's more?



The stock intake pipe, is it a piece of junk...



personally i like the more open look of the stage 1 and the price hehe

I am currently running the drop in K&N. What were the night and day differences you found?

AFE / KN

AFE gives quicker spool up, increased low end acceleration, I saw 0. 7 mpg increase in fuel mileage on the freeway, and the filter minder no longer reads 10-12 restriction. In fact, under full stock boost (24 psi), I can not get the filter minder to show any restriction.



One of the best add ons that I have put on my truck in 8 1/2 years.



Another satisfied AFE user and I hade previously run a K&N in the stock box for 100K +.
