ok guy's here I go again(my wife gave the ok for a little extra power)I was leaning towards the power max1 but now I'm thinking about the edge e/z? witch one smokes less or do they not cause excessive smoke, the e/z sounds e/z to install ,help me out here guy's I will probably buy by the end of the week

thank,s Don:D

I don't know about the powermax but the EZ smokes just a little at WOT in setting #3 but just a small amount while the turbo is spooling up. ;)

It's starting, another victim

The Edge EZ is an easy to install no hassle product. I didn't drive behind our truck after the install and didn't think it smoked at all. It does have some jumpers that give you some flexibility for the smoke. Anyway, just a warning, today the EZ, tomorrow... . well, just wait and see. Is this your wife's truck? :D

smoke

RADdodge the trucks' mine, wife bought it for me last year for birthday did you change the settings on yours or just install it strait out of the box? do you think the ez will hurt my stock auto I don't tow anything juat looking for a faster 0 to 60 speed

Don

Why PM 1?

If you are considering the PM 1, why not a PM 3 adjustable? I assure you that after 1 month of driving with the PM 1 you will think the truck is still stock. Once you start BOMBing, the quest for more power will be never ending. The PM 3 with remote is only a little more expensive. The best thing about it is its adjustabillity. If you want PM 1 power, put on setting 3, If you want PM 2 power, put on setting 6, and if you want lots of power put on setting 9. Even when it is on setting 9, the smoke is very minimal. Hope this helps.

The EZ is a nice addition. Not a lot of smoke unless you lug out your motor (rpms <1500). The jumpers let you set the power how you like it. My MPG went up about 2 mpg after I added it. Install is easy too.

Just a warning, once you start BOMBing, there is no stopping... :D

you are not comparing apples to apples

the power max is a major fueling box (tapping the pump wire)

the EZ is timing and fueling (without tapping the pump wire)

Your best bet is the EZ for like you say "a little extra power "

Thanks for everyone's imput so for,you guy's are making this decision harder than I thought. Is this power thing that addictive?:) Thanks again Don

Go with PM-3 Adjustable!

Get the PM-3 Adjustable and run with it on the lower settings. Then, as you feel the urge to step out, you can BOMB your transmission.

Remember: BOMBing is a disease that can't be cured. d;-D :D

another ? Is the power edge pulse better than the edge ez and is the power edge pulse compatable to the power max3 I'm sorry about being so confused on this subject what does bombing stand for? thanks Don

Yes,the power thing is that addictive. Mine feels like stock again,at 400hp. I would not get the PM,it is a major fueling box,go with the EZ,its easy to onhook,if you need warranty work, and wont hurt your trans nearly as much as the PM. My transmission slipped a little ,with just the EZ,

Don, first of all, there is no such thing as extra power. More power, or additional power maybe, but no such thing as extra power. It's like money. No such thing as "extra". Yes, it is addicting. A modified truck is so much more fun to drive than a stocker. It makes it fun. I have the EZ and hope to ad injectors later.

rrab1- The pulse is basically a ez and edge, it has 4 settings that are changed under the hood. The pulse DOES tap the pump wire.

You guys are ALL missing the point here! Don's wife bought him a truck for his birthday. A Cummins-powered RAM diesel truck. Wow. Definitely a "Keeper". ;)

Don, you have to ask yourself if you plan on transmission mods. in the future and then choose. I'm fairly certain that you'll be okay with the EZ in the auto, maybe someone with a auto trans. can reply. Now way will your transmission hold up to the PM 3 adjustable box IMHO.

Go with the TST PM3 or with Blue Chip's FMS. Both are great boxes. I started with the Plug N Play. It was a little smokey at low end. Next I went to the PM3 adjustable. Just a Beautiful thing. Hardly any smoke with my 275 injectors. I liked it so well I hooked up my Plug n Play with it. Even more beautiful. Upgraded the Plug n Play and no smoke. A little bigger turbo 14cm and a four in exhaust makes it run real nice. Two mufflers, one big and one small, installled at DD keeps it real quiet. Gives about 390 hp and 850 torque. I think I better get some bigger injectors. I have to tell my wife that I need bigger injectors so that I won't hurt the engine. Go big or don't go!

You are correct, rrab1 has a keeper. My wife lets me drive hers. She's a keeper too!

Oo.

Bigsaint is right. If you add an EZ or similar, there should be no problem. I only drove mine a short time with the EZ installed. I did that at the recommendation of someone who knows transmissions very well, In fact, the whole family is performance minded. Anyway, once I had the transmission upgraded and the DDIII injectors installed, I just had to go with the Comp to control the smoke while hauling our camper. I really never tried the EZ with the DDIII's, but I was told it would smoke. Anyway, the short answer to your question of, "will the EZ hurt your stock auto transmission?", is no.
