I have noticed with my stock 05 that when I accelerate that I have quite a bit more "smoke" for lack of a better term than my 98. It seems excessive than what I would normally expect in this situatution. Otherwise it runs great and is producing clean exhaust when crusing. Anyone else having this problem?

Thanks,

Perry

I am surprised at how much my truck smokes, even though it is bone-stock. What's surprising is you don't need to have your foot to the floor to induce it. If you get a little past 1/2 throttle it seems to come on. I'm only at 6,000 miles, so maybe break-in will help this out a bit.

On a hot day mine smokes pretty good stock too. I'm at 15000 miles thus far. And if you really want it to smoke, get it up to about 1900 RPM's with a little boost pressure, hold the brakes, and stomp the throttle, at least that seems to work well with a manual transmission...

Any time I get past 1/2 throttle or so with the RPM's above 2000 mine will really throw the smoke. Its bone stock with 11000 miles on it. It will leave a decent cloud.

Hello, I have around 7,000 on my stock truck and it does the same thing. I asked about this before on this site and most of the guys say it's o. k. but just to keep an eye on things to be sure. Mine does it around half of more throtle too. Have a good one!!!

As long as the smoke is black or some what black your good to go. It's when it's white/blue'ish that you need to start worrying.
