Extra Stop light

Is there a law that requires me to put a center mount high, stop light on my pickup camper, if I carry it in a truck that already has this type light?

I think that if it was required, the newer campers would have them on as origingal equipment. I have never seen the 3rd light on a pick-up camper or a trailer.

Thats a good question. When I bought my new canopy the dealer said it was required by law so why not a full size camper?

These trucks are even prewired for the cab high brake light. (Thats what the dealer called it). There'a wire hanging just in front of my spare tire for this purpose.

Don't know if required but my glasstite Shell come with the light on it at top middle, connected to I think a white wire behind license plate I can check color if you want... Chris

I could not find that wire on my 97. Does snyone know where it is?

I work part time at an RV dealership as a service tech. and hold a PA State Inspection License. If you are talking about a slide in camper, (to the best of my knowledge) high mounted stop lights are not required. If you are speaking of a "Truck Cap" they are and must work.
