Has anyone installed a extra storage tank for more vaccumm? I have the feeling that I need a little more vaccum in reserve.

maybe your vacuum pump needs rebuilt... . i have never seen a good one not keep up... . check all connections make sure there are no leaks. i have used these pumps in fords with cummins in it too and got rid of there lil electric motor and vacuum reservoir for cleareance issues. if need still be then you could use one from a powerstroke or better yet a jeep, atleast somewhat same manufacturer.

It might be the cool weather. That always brings on the questionable problems. Every thing "Shrinks".

Back to your original request.
I made a small vacuum reservoir tank from PVC pipe when I installed an exhaust brake on my '98. It worked OK but I had mounted it too close to the heat from the engine and it collapsed. Use a length of good sized PVC pipe with caps glued on. Drill and tap a hole for a pipe fitting and you have it. Just mount it well away from the engine.

Thats a good suggestion. But I have a 1 gal air compressor tank, steel, thought about putting nipples and plugs in it and and mounting that for the extra volume. As suggested maybe time for a rebuild of the pump. But its building 23" of vacuum. I'm going to check for leak down, that will verify bad connections.

The less fittings the better,a single vacuum nipple in a silver soldered coffee can would work fine
