Having bought a new 5th wheel toy hauler this spring that weighs about 14000#, we took it on its maiden voyage last weekend. All is fine on the flats and smaller grades but when we went over 4th of July Pass and the transmission downshifted, it revved up and then slammed into gear twice before settling into 2nd gear and continuing over the pass. The O/D was off and I let it downshift on its own. It did the same thing on the trip home on Sunday. Its a stock 24 valve motor and the only modification to the transmission is a Mag Hitech Double Deep Pan.
Any ideas? I don't see it living long if this shift continues.
