Well, since you asked I will relay my thoughts about my dealings with DD.
when I spoke to Keith about purchasing a set of stage III injectors I informed him about the upgrades I had already done. I wanted to make sure they wouldn't smoke too much since I am running a TST flashed ECM. I already was using the RV injectors at the time and told DD That the only time I could really see any smoke was at night when a car was behind me. I was told by Keith that the stage III injectors would only smoke a small amount more than the RV injectors did. He was very nice on the phone and took time to speak with me and seemed to know of the TST flashed ECMs. I called back a few weeks later and ordered a set of stage III injectors.
the injectors came but they were the wrong ones. DD sent the right set out next day. so far so good. I installed the injectors and took the beast out for a test run. Gobs of power but it smoked like a sled pulling rig. I have never seen a dump truck smoke like this. I took a 200 mile trip the next day and when I got back the side of my tuck was covered in soot. I took out the DDIII and sent them back along with the wrong ones they sent out the first time. (never installed the first ones).
DD said that they would check them out but wouldn't refund my money due to too much smoke. This was NEVER mentioned when I first spoke with them. He was only going to credit me $400 on a $700 set of injectors.
Keith said that they would install my injectors in the owners truck and put a clip of it on the DD website to show that the injectors don't smoke. I never saw this done.
I took the injectors back and sold them to somebody who doesn't care about smoke.
When I got the injectors back from DD they didn't send them back with the little boxes for each injector, the plastic caps for the injector tips were missing.
In fact they just put the injectors in a ziplock baggie and put the bag in a small box.
Since that time DD has change there website. It now states that they don't recommend the injectors for what I TOLD them that I had. It also says they don't do refunds for TOO much smoke. IF IT HAD SAID THAT IN THE FIRST PLACE I would have bought Stage I injectors.
Hell, they could have make me happy if the credited me $200 and sent me a set of stage I injectors. That was too much for them to do.
done is done.
I told them that I wouldn't go around bad mouthing them unless somebody asked.
Ohh. . one more thing. Keith also said several times "you can just sell them to one of your little buddies on the TDR"
Yeah nice guys.
later
Mike
