Question;

If Lucas POD's are 4 hole injectors and flow more fuel than stock then why can't someone (If not already) hone out stock injectors to flow the same or more fuel than POD's? Are stock injectors 6 hole? If they are, would these give better atomization than the POD's and smoke less w/equal power output? Just wondering since, I've started to look into getting a set of injectors. Thanks.

Don M at formula 1 diesel is doing a lot of cool stuff. He is one of the only people around that is actually trying to take us first genners beyond the old POD design.

Oh no....

East Cosat Jay is at it again. :D I have a set of F1 EDMs that I got thru Rip Rook. After setting my timing (thanks, EC Jay), and finding out what "snug" meant in terms of feeler gauge usage, and thus readjusting my valves, I'll say that the "stock" flowing ones I have gave me an aditional 20-25 HP over stock, with teh pump 3/8 turn BACK from where it was with the worn stockerrs. HAd I stuck with the MACH 1s, (besides being too hot for my nonIC truck and pump settings) I dont know what I'd be putting out. Smoke is almost non existant, save a little puff at take off, and a light haze at WOT, & 35+psi. I think mine were 5 holers that went in. Runs smoother, accelerates faster, and cooldown time is almost non existant- I could safely shut it off at any stoplight in town. I think an intercooler and a set of MACH2s would put you over your clutch capacity. THey are a little more than a set of PODs (ok quite a bit) but for the reduced smoke and EGT, they are worth it IMO. They are actually about the same as extrude honing a set of stockers, (looked into it a year and a half ago), and have 8 holes in the MACH1 & 2.
