Is there any way to set my stock auto trans to not slip the TC when you accelerate moderately in OD? If you hit the throttle to the wood, it holds good with no slip. I know what you are all going to tell me "Go with DTT". That is in the future, near I hope, but our labor contract with the Teamsters and UPS is comming up in July and I want to watch my nickels until it is settled. I ran the EZ on the second setting... . LOVED IT and got better mileage to boot. I have un-hooked it for now and am going thru "Power Withdrawls!" :{ :{ I checked out the DTT website on how to raise the line pressure but how much do you do it? Chris

motorhead, you should try to get about 62-64 PSI at idle in drive with the truck not moving. Don't be too surprised if you can't get it that high though. Get all you can and it will help, been there and done that. Be fully aware also that you cannot add anymore power than the EZ, it will not hold it. It is my opinion that the trucks that do slip with just the EZ or VA have a lot more internal leakage than the trucks that do not and have less holding power as a result. There are some trucks that have held an EZ and DD1's for over 75K miles with a bone stock transmission where others die in several thousand miles. The internal leakage plays a bigger role than most think in this. My honest opinion, and I am no transmission guru.

BTW, heavy throttle and high RPM are your firiend, the pressures are higher with heavy throttle than light and they are higher with higher RPM than lower RPM. If you need power get down to business, brisk acceleration is much easier for the transmission to hold. You are not seeing the slippage as the throttle valve in the transmission is allowing more pressure when heavy throttle is used, light throttle is slip city with a marginal trans.

Hope my ramble helps.

Howard(LSmith) I love your avitar....

Chris,

When I did mine I turned it about 3 times, on each of those "screw" adjustments. Mine has not sliped yet.

Call DTT......

Even if you can't afford it yet Bill will steer you right. He will reccomend the proper adjustment for your driving style. Worked great for me right up till the DD2's went in. :D :D
