I know that DDIIs and EZ are OK, but was wondering about the III's. Are EGTs going to be an issue without going to a 4" exhaust?

Don, you want to go for DDIII's? I was thinking about the same thing. Let me know if you want to go that route.

I'm just looking at the initial cost difference and thinking that if I could get away with the 3's w/o having to do the exhaust at the same time it might be a route to take.

From other posts I've read, an EZ and PE with the 3's need the 4" and an HX-40. Since I'm not planning on the PE or equivalents any time soon...

Maybe since you have the Hot PE, you should step up to the 3's... . and sell me your 2's and the EZ!!! #ad

We'll have to talk about that one. I can get an EZ for you, if you're really interested.

One of these days, when I manage to save some money, I will be ready to Bomb. I'd like to go with the outfit that's been described above, PE EZ box w/ DDIII injectors (or even better, DD's version of the EZ box). How would this affect EGT's? I want to be able to hook up and tow without worring about temps. Also, would the cruise control still work? I seem to remember reading some posts sometime back that said there were problems with the cruise when performance was increased.

Ok right now I have the EZ and Power Edge with 4" exhuast and DTT vb & tc and with the Power Edge turned off the EGT's have not been a problem with normal driving & tromping it--you just got to watch them that's all, but I don't think you'll have a big problem until you add the Power Edge then you need to watch them if you stomp on it from a dead start(they go crazy), but if you're driving along and hit the #2 or #3 setting with the boost already up it's a lot better--you'll still have to watch them though as the 3" exhaust will probably limit you a little more than my results... ... get 'em is my vote... . chris

When I started the bombing on my ram, I made took baby steps. Started with the PE (EZ was not out yet), temps were controllable. Then added the EZ and the temps stayed relatively the same. Then added the DDIIs and EZ+PE+DDIIs forget it, I couldn't use lavel one wot without hitting 1400 preturbo. Added the HX40 and my problems are solved, With Hot PE on level 4 max egt is 1450. I would like to go to DDIIIs now but need a home for the IIs.

I would advise that the EZ+DDIIIs could be used in your situation. Baring you monitor temps. In addition I would recommend eliminating the resonator and muffler or if it is quiet you like then get a walker muffler to replace the oem and still leave the resonator off. Also I like the RE0880 filter.

Any Questions?

i saw DD3's and an EZ on least aggressive setting put down 303HP at the rear wheels with a 91% DTT TC unlocked also had a K+N RE0880 which was worth 10 hp . though the dyno was not capable of loading enough to get max boost and EGT ran about 1000 , this was with a 4" exhaust and the stock 2000 turbo , on the street this setup has very sane EGT's , if you have a stock exhaust , loose the stock resonator and muffler in favor of a lo restriction muffler .

the EZ actually lowers the EGT making this a great combo , only the insane BOMBer will crave more power than this .

I have 275's a EZ and a regular PE and I can hit 1450 degrees at WOT. But I am going like a bat out of hell when it hits that temp.
