these numbers are about the same with the Edge ez box on and off.
at 50mph 575 egts and 4 boost
at 60mph 600-625 egt and 7 boost
at 70mph 625-650 egt and 12
from 50mph floor it and bring up to 70mph, Max egt’s 1000 same with ez and with out.
rolling from a stop and floor it up to 70mph Max egt’s 1050 same with ez and with out.
normal acceleration from a stop egts climb to 600, when OD kicks in at 40 egts climb to 800 and levels off as truck picks up speed, about the same with and with out ez.
Now towing 10,000 lbs fiver at 70mph egts 950 with out ez and 800 with ez
up a steep incline and trying to keep same speed with out ez, egts climb to 1000 but truck looses speed from 70 down to 55-50
then must lock out Od to keep at 50mph
With ez truck basically keeps up same incline but egts climb to a Max of 1100 and keeping transmission in OD
Definitely has a lot more power with ez but egts climb a lot faster to 1100 under a load.
What I do is accelerate keeping egts at a 1000 and let truck gradually pick up speed instead of getting on it and have egts at 1100. Aparentely the Ez doesn't make much of difference when truck is not loaded and with trailer egts are only higher when under a heavy load but truck sure has seat of the pants power.
Question, Am I with in safe egt temps when towing? keep in mind the truck just has 4” exhaust, Ez and stock air filter.
Your comments and suggestions are appreciated.
