I realize this horse may have been dead before Ted Kennedy took his first shot of Bourbon, but I thought I would beat it once more.

My rig is totally stock and I want to get some more ponies out of her. I will be towing a boat with a weight of around 6,000lbs. It looks as though, from reading your posts, that the EZ and some gauges would be a great start. My question is is it possible to take out the EZ before taking it in for 'warranty service' without them knowing about it. I realize that if the elbow is there it will be a little more dfficult.

Also, who makes a great set of pillar gauges at a decent price. I'm new on the board so I apologize for asking for information that is probably already here.

Thanks:confused:

HOW BIG IS YOUR BUDGET????Oo.

The EZ is a good start. The elbow is a dead give away as is the velcro used to secure the EZ on the fuse block if not removed before the visit. The EZ if removed will leave no visible evidence but if DC calls Cummins in to check the ECM for historical operating paramiters They will be able to tell.

There are many good gauge manufacturers, I prefer the ISSPRO, some prefer the high dollar digitals, others AutoMeter.

Technically, the EZ can void your powertrain warranty - if you get it be sure you're ready to pay that price. My personal opinion is that you should still be covered for seal leaks and the like, *but* if your transmission craps out you shouldn't expect the dealer to pay for it. You can do a search and get varying opinions.

You can always wait until you're past the 36,000 mile mark (unless you were lucky enough to get in on the full 100,000 powertrain warranty). My experience with a 6,000 pound trailer is that I have to check the mirrors to make sure it is still attached (on level ground anyway). I know that doesn't satisfy the desire for more power - this force is strong.

seafood-

My truck went to D/C today and I just flipped out my EZ, pulled the boost elbow and ripped off the velcro. They didn't say anything to me. No worried bro.

It looks as though I may just get an EZ without the elbow for now and when my warranty runs out in 32,000 miles I will get busier on that power plant than Liz Taylors' plastic surgeon.

Anyone had any transmission 'problems' with the EZ and towing?
