I'm sure someone here can answer my question. Can the edge ez be run without the boost module hooked up?

The reason I ask, is because from what I've read, it seems that the higher boost can actually give you higher EGTs than in stock form. Will the ECM be able to do its job, if the boost module is not there to override it?

Thanks

From the installation instructions:

"The installation of the brass elbow permits turbo boost pressures of greater than 20 psi without the wastegate opening. The Power Edge EZ Module will operate equally well with or without this installed"

For a given amount of fueling, more mass flow of air (i. e. , more boost) = lower EGT's. On highly modified trucks, the exception to this rule would be if the turbo compressor is completely off its performance map, but it should pretty much hold true for stock trucks.

I installed the EZ (with boost elbow) and a 4" Jardine exhaust system on the same weekend. Max boost increased from 22 to 32 PSIG, and max pre-turbo EGT's dropped from 1300 degF to 1100 degF when towing our 5ver and running at 21,180 GCW (21,500 GCWR).
