OK, it turns out that there are two more levels on the EZ that haven't been made known and are going to be removed in future units. By default, they are supposed to be set to level 3 (it says 2 in the manual, though).

Level 5 (the way mine came) is on jumper on the left-most pin on the right side. Level 6 is the middle and left pin on the right-hand side. According to Edge, they are good for the following:

1 - 30 HP

2 - 45 HP

3 - 60 HP

4 - 70 HP, 200 ft. lbs.

5 - 75 HP, 220 ft. lbs.

6 - 80 HP, 240 - 250 ft. lbs.

I questioned them at great length about the higher levels and why they didn't mention them and were going to remove them. He basically said that they just didn't feel comfortable with higher settings but assured me that they weren't damaging. I mentioned that I only had an SO with the 5 speed and he still said I should not have problems. They run their trucks on the highest level and haven't had problems to date.

This does bring up a question. What should one look for when running their trucks on the higher levels? When running should I only concern myself with EGT's? I assume transmission/clutch problems could result, too. Anything else?

I think "leak" is an understatement for something that may be approaching or exceeding 30,000 psi. :)

(just a guess, but if it does 26k stock. . )

I did ask specifically about the pressure from the box and, again, I was assured it was OK.

Maybe my question should be how trustworthy is Edge when it comes to passing on this information? Obviously, they want to sell their boxes. Does anyone have any bad experiences with them or are they a pretty straight up operation?

Haven't been able to see at level 6 yet since we're under a few feet of snow. At level 5, with the boost elbow, I've hit 1100 after hard ascent on a fairly steep, lengthy grade. It hit 1200 before the boost elbow. It takes about 10 - 15 seconds of full throttle up hill to get this high and I'm around 85 mph so I have to back off due to speed not temps. I haven't checked it with a load yet.

Re: Re: level 6

I ran it today on level 6 up some pretty good hills. I hit 1200 and it felt like it would have kept going. I didn't feel that there was much of a performance gain over level 5 (plus the higher EGT's) so I dropped it back to level 5. It idled a little rough on 6, too.

I stopped for some fuel and checked mileage. 18. 4 mpg in 150 miles. Those 150 miles were pretty hard with full throttle starts and such since I've been playing with all the power. Usually, I'd get around 17. 6 mpg for the same type of driving without all the full throttle starts. So, mileage has definitely improved with the box.
