truck's going to dealer Friday 8-23-02 for a/c work under warranty so I'm going to remove my ez, so my question is, do I need to remove the boost elbow too, are is it ok to drive it with the boost elbow in place. Thanks in advance Don Barr
Yes you can run without an EZ while leaving the boost elbo on but be-ware of 2 things
1)leaving the elbo on will be a dead givayay to a dealer who has seen this mod before, only because it has a hose clamp instead of a crimp style.
2) Take it easy on the go peddle to and fro or you will get a overboost code to the ECM and it will show up on there scanner and when you do the 3 key on/off trick.
once you re-hook the EZ up then it will fool the ECM and it thinks your boost is alot lower then it actually is... ... ... ... ... . Kevin
Take the elbow off. My "peak recall" feature on my gauges tells me that the dealer techs drive my truck harder than I do; so even if YOU don't set the code, THEY will!
thanks for everyones input I removed the ez and the elbow tonight and went for a spin and I can't wait to put it back on it has no low end at all Thanks again Don
