Well went to the track with my EZ in place and on level 4. My best time before yesterday was 18. 06 at around 74 with a 2. 33 60'. My best time yesterday was a 15. 9 at 84 with a 2. 06 60'. I drive a SO 5 speed quad cab with 315/70/17 tires and a DPP 4" exhaust. I launched in 4wd in second gear, in 3rd I shifted out of 4wd, but I think it stayed in until the 3rd to 4th shift. I got a 4th gear scratch every time, this is one strong clutch. Not bad for a 70 hp box.



My nephew went too with his 6. 0 5 speed auto supercab power stroke. Stock he can run a 15. 8 at 84. Well he had a quad box on his truck. He ran a 14. 24 at around 92 with a 1. 82 60'. That's just crazy fast for just a box and strait pipe. He was happy.

HO 48RE

Other nephew has a HO 48RE, and he did go to the track, and we did try my box on his truck, but the numbers were not what I was expecting. Stock he ran best of 16. 3 at 80 and with my box he ran 15. 3 at 87. That was in 2wd, he can't launch that truck hard in 4x4, the transmission won't let him, pulls the power back. I was really hoping that he would run in the 14s. The box did gain him 70 hp, but I gained like 90 hp on my truck. I use the calculator at smokeemup.com to figure rwhp gains. I guess I should have posted this in the Comp forum.



Choose your stoplight races wisely, those 6. 0 PSDs will fly with a box.
 
how about a 03 DTT comp box and dd'2s bye bye mr 6L. those 6l aint nothing to be scared of! maybe stock but you shouldnt race stock anyway other than to get a baseline hp. I will say this it is hard to race shift a 6spd. A 03 Ho 2wd DTT 48re dd3's hx40 edge comp. all i can say is bring it on powerchoke and duralow (hehe "duralow" man those things sit low? that is a new one i just thought of ):rolleyes:

I'm really waiting for the TST box. I was just real happy to see that my SO gained 90 rwhp with a 70 hp box. So, the 140 rwhp box that TST will be releasing soon, puts out 140 rwhp on an HO. And if my wishfull thinking is correct it should make about 160 rwhp on an SO, which would put me at 360 to 370 rwhp. That would be the limit on the turbo and the clutch, and that should be about a mid to high 14. ;)

Thanks for bursting my bubble, clutch sure feels strong.



One thing I really don't like about the EZ, the rpms hang even more than stock between shifting. Drives me crazy, a lot worse on 100 degree days. I gotta relearn how the drive again, ease out of trottle before shifting.
