I plugged in the EZ (after TST) and got a very rough/lopey idle. I rechecked the connections for integrity and found no problems. Can anyone offer me a suggestion please? Thanks.
I'd suggest getting some dielectric grease and applying it to all the connections (MAP and Rail). This may help create better connecitons. It has helped with some problems on other boxes I've tried.
I've noticed that my EZ does cause a rough idle and touchy throttle. I prefer the smoothness of a TS MP-8.
Thanks so much. I guess I should have stated that it is so rough that I didn't bother to try to drive it. Curiously the "water in fuel" light comes on but when I pull the EZ out of the loop all goes back to normal.
If you havent used the EZ before and not sure if it works by itself look at where the wires go into the FP and MAP sensor coming out of the EZ. I had a problem with bad grommets on these plugs and it would do the same thing you are describing. I checked it with the engine running and wiggled the wires/plugs and it would clear up and/or get worse when I wiggled them. Edge warranteed a new box for me.
Is it a new EZ box? I got one a while back for my father in law and it made his truck idle real bad and loop bad. Turned out it was just the box. Took it back and got a new one and he has had no problems since.
I had my EZ on for about a year before I added my TST and have never had a problem. Many members on this site run the same stack. I've not heard of a "hardware problem" with the EZ. Just call Edge and I'm sure they would be happy to work with you to find the problem.
