I am not really shure which forum I need to be in but I think that the new truck I bought has a ISB motor which is a 12 valve right? It is rated @ 225 or 235hp. It is in a brand new(05) 8yard dump f-650 I bought with a 7speed spicer transmission. I wanted to do a little work to the engine. I was gonna start with downpipe(the one on this thing I swear goes down to 2. 5") and freeing up the exhaust. How else can I make some good reliable HP. Wish I new more about the early cummins motors! Thanks in advance!!!!

What year is it? ISB is the 24V engine that started in the pickups mid year 1998. Before that they were the 12V. 12V have a valve cover for each cylinder, 24 have a single cover over all the valves. SNOKING

The 650 was available with 185,205 and 225 HP ISB (24 valve) 5,6 and 7 speed. Late production also had the new Holset variable turbo. Exhaust is 3".

You might want to read your warrany manual before making any kind of modification.
