F.A.S.S. on an 05

I am wondering how the FASS system works on the 05. Do you remove the tank and the factory pump and replace it with a new pick up . If somebody has done this swap, please let me know what it consists of.

I am in the process of installing mine. you leave the stock pump in as a backup. you have to drill the tank and put in a new pickup tube. that is as far as I got.

TexasCat - I installed the FASS 95gph (pump only) on my '05. The process consists of:

a) dropping the tank and drilling a new hole for the pick-up bulk head/installation of the pick up.

b) mounting the pump

c) reinstalling the tank

d) plumbing the pump to the tank and to the fuel filter

e) wiring the electrical connections



The in tank pump is left in place and the only original line that is disconnected is the feed line from the stock pump to the fuel filter (at the fuel filter). The return line and all the stock electrical connections remain intact. The relay to the stock pump is removed and the power to the FASS is generated from a cigarette lighter fuse tap in the fuse box.



The process is pretty straight forward and the directions are good. I did the entire job with the help of a friend in 5-6 hours (I work real slow).
