I would also get rid of the banjo bolts or at least get the better ones from Wildcat Diesel.

The only banjo that's left is on the return line. The supply from the canister to the CP3 is 3/8" rubber fuel line with AN fittings. This was from the initial DD pump installation.

Mad Bomber it really quieted your second gen down I bet it would really do a lot to quiet a twelve valve down. Your 400+HP sounds real stealth. The EZ is working great almost never take it out of fith on level 2 I will play with level 4 after my gauges are installed they shipped this afternoon.

Fass

Tom, that is very true I can't even tell when the pump cycles. I'm glad you got some power on there. It's a real slippery slope. Soon you'll need a clutch then turbo and maybe even injectors. BOMB ON:D :D

I can't use the FASS product because it requires a secondary fuel return line "due to the higher flow rate" back to the stock tank fill overflow fitting. I have a 65 gal bed tank with a switching valve that redirects the flows to and from the stock lift pump and filter bact to the selected tanks by fliping a switch on the fly. The return line size is to small for the 140 GPH FASS unit and I want to keep the bed tank system so I am looking for an alternative like the "Stanadyne System" on page 158 in issue #44 of TDR for my solution. I have the Banks six shooter so I am not way out there, unless I am on level 6 so I probably don't need such a big increase in flow to satisfy my stock lift pump injection system. Will the stanadyne unit work? How much added pressure is ok for the 03 HO stock system without causing a problem?HELP!!!

Just a quick update on my FASS pressure problems. My gauge went down to 5psi all the time, either idle or WOT - occasionally sticking at 0 until I tapped it. The problem was in my pressure gauge isolator. The FASS was putting out somewhere around 15psi (hooked a 100psi gauge to the gauge port on the FASS itself - the resolution of the gauge prevented a more accurate reading). Applying 15psi of pressure directly to the input of the isolator produced a 5psi reading on the gauge.

In the end, I just disassembled the isolator, straightened out the collapsed gasket, re-filled it, threw it back together, and now the guage reads 15psi at idle - and that's still going through the factory canister and filter, as well.

Too bad the only electric fuel pressure gauge looks so ugly :)

I installed the FASS filter system Wednesday the bracket fit pretty good I did have too drill one new hole in it too move it forward too clear spring hanger. I think the hangers are bigger on 1 tons, But all in all I really like the system .

Is the FASS still routed through the stock pump and filter, and then the excess pressure rerouted to the tank.

The FASS was originally designed to supply fuel directly to the injection pump, bypassing the stock fuel filter canister. The FASS has it's own return line that plumbs into the filler neck vent. The stock return system from the pump and fuel rail is left intact, as well.

In my particular installation, I used some pieces from the Diesel Dynamics pusher pump kit and plumbed the supply line from the FASS into the back of the stock filter housing, (the stock lift pump was removed), retaining the stock filter (which I could remove if I wanted to), heater, and WIF drain.

That's interesting - it bolted right up for me. I did wind up mounting it on the body support for the cab, rather than the bed support. I didn't have a drill bit short enough, even for my right-angle drill, to get a straight shot into the cab support (picture). I plan on running a couple of weld beads around the bracket, just to make sure it stays put.

A friend of mine installed a F. A. S. S. on his truck before TiM. His A/C does not work. He also has the TST which he thought was the problem. When he talked to Mark Chapple at TiM he was told that the FASS was causing the problem. Anyone else having these issues??

FASS and AirDog

Not trying to start a flame or anything, but we look at various other products all the time for pros and cons and I just have a need to utilize one of these products or for that matter another if it exists. I've read I believe most if not all the the threads and posts on FASS recently. It appears although the base product is very good and obviously has many upsides I question why it isn't complete or am I'm getting bad info or am I interpreting the data wrong? When mounted on the new generation one ton it appears the mounting system is insufficient for durability or for that matter fit that works. Also it appears from all the posts I've read that fittings are needed from various sources to make this thing work properly. You'd think for that kind of $ that you'd get and resonably expect to have everything you need to make this thing work. So,. . why not? Also I don't know much about this Air Dog except what I read on one web site, but it appears to be the competitive product and does virtually the same thing and costs are similar. I haven't heard about the completness of that kit for fit and fittings and such. I'm not interested in all the history of the father and son thing here. I just want the facts on the products and how effective they are and are we getting the value and durability you'd expect. Pls remember if you have to go outside to yet another vendor to get a bunch of parts and fittings that what is a better price no longer is the better value,. . IMO. Thoughts?

Out-of-here,

I didn't have any real problems mounting mine - I simply chose a different location than the instructions suggested (actually I used the mounting point specified for shortbed trucks, even though I have a longbed). I did that because it made the installation easier. I'm sure the bracket will hold up fine with just the mounting bolts - my desire to weld the bracket is just for my own piece of mind - nothing more.

As for the pieces I cobbled together from my other fuel pump kit, that was so that I could retain the factory filter in addition to the FASS filters. Everything was included to run the fuel supply from the FASS directly to the injection pump. Again, I simply chose to modify the original installation to suit my own particular needs/wishes. I don't see this as a fault of the FASS kit.
