Competition Spooling problems

Off Roading 4x2 solid axle...

What's it gonna take for me to drag a 4x4 f350 crew cab 7. 3 duallie backwards.

If i break parts so be it... Same risk everyone takes sled pulling or drag racing.

His truck is an auto, crew cab 4x4 7. 3. Mine is the 01 below. What is the weight difference. I think i can get a higher hitch point. Give me the way to definitely win. Do i need 1000lbs? More?

thanks,

Chris

thanks,

throw some weight off the front, and 3000 lbs in the bed, that dualie weighs about 8500lbs

Added weight to the bed will be the key. Both trucks have enough power to drag the other. The heavier truck will have better traction. Might let the tire presure down a little as well. Make sure to video this blessed event and post it here!

Yeah, I completely understand that it really proves nothing about power... only who has more traction.

I am going to try to get my truck across a scale tomorrow. I've never had it on one unloaded.

So is 8500 a pretty close number for his truck?

Also, anyone ever happen to notice how the hitch height of a 2nd gen dodge 2500 compares to that of an f350 duallie. I know my 2500 is a lot higher then the f250 6. 0 at work, but the duallies sit a good bit higher then an f250.

Too bad it's not simply about torque. I'd have him covered no worries then. LOL

Wouldn't the dually have a traction advantage over a single rear axle?

Maybe. More tire contact area but less pressure on the ground per tire. Dually tires tend to be stiffer which could mean less traction.

Any chance you can borrow the old truck Chris?

No... unfortunately it's far away from here. A guy from Ohio bought it. Good for him, bad for me.

I ran my truck across the scales today. 7300lbs... guess i better add some weight.

So true. :-laf I hooked to brett (my good friend with a dodge for anyone wondering) yesterday afternoon to see what technique worked best. How bad does a clutch have to be for one to be able to smoke it in 4lo 1st gear? I did figure out that if i just eased the clutch out with the mighty cummins idleing, it would hold and drag him backwards, even if he was standing on the brakes for all he had.

Well it turns out that after all my R&D, the powerstroke that was supposed to yank me didn't even show up. There were two other powerstroke trucks there, but their owners wouldn't try it.
