OK, so I finally figured it out... ... . This is the FabTech double shock mount. Also pictured is the Bilstein 5150 series resovor shock, and FabTech limiting strap.

The FabTech double shock mount eliminates the shock inside the coil spring, both mount infront of the spring. The shocks are from Bilstien and they are the 5150 series valved at 170/60.

Nice work y-knot!

Question...

What do you think of the 170/70 valving with twin shocks? Would you make any changes in the valving - stiffer/looser?

Thanks... . First let me say I made a mistake, the front valving is 170/60, I am sorry.

Sunday my wife and I took a long highway drive, and we both agreed that the changes we made were very much positive, and worth the investment. The front seems to be very, very close to being perfect. Now I have no way of noing what aliitle more or less valving would do, but it feels right. Now when the suspension needs to travel, it does so with out a thud or hard hit. The suspension just moves the amount it has to, and it does so smoothly and with out incident. Nothing harsh, just smooth travel, with control. The back is valved at 255/70 and it feels good, but I am still playing with air pressure, it does not need as much as in the past. Right now I am at 20psi, where I use to run 50-55psi. The overall ride is much improved, and feels like such a different truck. I also got rid of the drone with the Aero Turbine muffler. We were experimenting and the rode was fairly clear, so we ran about 30 mile at 80-105 mph and the control at those speeds were fantastic. There were several large dips in the highway that like to unload the suspension at a very fast rate, giving that feeling on the road dropping out from under you, making your stomach feel like it is in your throat. This was handled extremely well, the suspension dropped off, but not the normal sudden way, just controlled, and the rebound as control. Totally different, but a very welcome change. So far there is nothing I would have done differently. If I would not use my truck for towing, I would have went with the Dick Cepeek long travel kit. I think that along with this set-up would be simply awesome. This was the first time I really had a chance to push my truck, since it's new fuel plate and AFC adjustment, they worked very well also, and the extra power is well noted. There is some extra smoke as well, but it is not excessive.

What brakes do you have ?

I like the cross drilled, and slotted rotors.

The shock dual shock mounts are

Thanks,

The brake rotors are from Raybestos, they are there super stoppers. They are cross drilled and gas sloted, really a nice rotor and very affordable. The pads, line, fluid, shoes, wheel cylinders,hi temp grease, ect all came from EGR. They simply work great, the hardest best feeling brakes I have ever had.

Lifted

Y-knot is your truck lifted? If so how much? If not does the dual shock mount give you more travel for the shocks? I thought the 5150 shocks were for lifted trucks only.

Thanks

I like people with a good eye, You are right I run the Daystar poly spacer which is 2". I wish I could go higher but it isn't practical since I pull a gooseneck. I am already 5 inches above stock, the space gave me 2", the tires gave me 1 1/2", and the shock mount/shocks another 1 1/2". I had my last trailer, which is a Edge tri-axle enclosed car hauler, built with the front deck higher then normal to accommodate the truck. It still has a slight rake to it though. The 5100's,and 5150's are only made in the eye to eye mount, and are only available as an "off-road" shock, since they will not work on a stock truck. The mount does and will make shock replacement much easier, it also gives more room in the engine compartment, by doing away with the upper mounts. There is no type of clearance problems, I run oversize tires and still have plenty of room. So far I have not found any reason to not install this mount. It does generate alot of attention, so if you do not like that, then I'd stay away from it. FabTech did a very good job designing the mount, it is extremely rugged and beefy. I was worried about backspacing problems the most when I decided to try this, the FabTech engineers did not recommend this mount on anything other then the 1500, that was there official stance since they had only tested it on the 1500. But it fits fine, and the backspace issue is not an issue.

I'm curious how the shock mount added 1. 5" of lift? It seems if this was the case you would have taken some of the weight off the spring and transferred it to the shocks

They did take some of the weight off the springs. I was not really expecting it, but they did. Kind of glade they did to, I think it accounts for alot of the imporved ride. The "clunk" in the front is gone when a bump is incountered, and the ride fells much more smooth.
