factory air filter difference??

Hello again, just got a replacement air filter replacement, and it has a white pre-filter pad on it where the original didn't... at first I thought it was just for shipping, but it's glued to the bottom. I left it on... was this right?? thanks in advance... Michael

Check out issue 41. I believe that the pad was a "nuts and bolts" prefilter that increased the overall efficiency of the filter by catching the big stuff without sacrificing air flow. Don't have my issue on me to give you a page . . . but I know it was addressed.
