For the past couple of months my factory alarm will work intermittently. The light went out a couple of weeks ago and driving the other day the siren goes off. Could this be a battery problem? Fuse? I like having my alarm working. Anyone have issues like this?

Sound's to me like a alarm battery problem or atleast that's a good place to start by replacing battery in remote

Changed the batteries on the remote but that wasnt it. Sometimes the red indicator light is on sometimes not. Real weak chirp at times too.

This happened on my 2003 3500. The problelm on mine was one of the tail lights breaking contact intermittly. The alarm would sound and the lamp out would flash sometimes. It took a year or so to run this problem down. Look at your tail light bulbs for some arcing on push in connection. I replaced several of mine with the Wagner long life bulbs with some delectric grease. Seems to be working fine.

Mine went nuts a couple times on me. The last time was very early in the morning in a small nearby village as I was getting ready for a bike ride. I hate alarms anyway, but I opened the hood and ripped the horns out. I bought a new pair of horns and wired them directly to a relay, bypassing the computer alarm stuff.

It still has a false alarm every now and then. It just sits hopelessly flashing the lights. :-laf
