I did some searching and have not found anything yet.

I own a 2001. 5 with the factory alarm system. The alarm stopped alarming when you use the remote key fob or the key to lock the truck. The red light does not flash when the doors are locked. It does test OK when you start the truck, so it is not the LED.

Some back ground, I have had a problem with the door locks opening by themselves. I think it may be because of the wet cold here on my island. I disabled the auto lock when moving. This stop the problem, but now I can not re-able this feature.

Are they related?

The alarm problem is new. I need to alarm my truck as it is a work truck with tools. I have done some trouble shooting, but have not opened the door panels.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Cary

The alarm is working again. :D

I think there is a switch or contact on the door lock inside the door that tells the CTM that the door is locked or unlocked. If the switch is not working the CTM thinks the door is not locked and does not alarm the truck, even though the door is locked. It would also tell the CTM that a door is unlocked and open both doors. That would explain the door unlocking by themselves.

The contacts must be getting wet and not making good contact. The question now is which side door lock? Does the driver side and passenger side work the same. If you open the passenger side door with the doors locked, does the driver's door unlock. I think if you open the driver's door the passenger door unlocks.

I know there is a TSB on the door lock problem.

Anyone have this problem?

TIA
