factory alarm system??

I was thinking about getting the factory alarm system, I just want something simple, like it will go off if you open the doors without the keyless remote. Is there any problems with this setup and how hard is it to add to the truck

I have the factory alarm system, which works well. Every once in a while, it will go off when I open the door after unlocking it with the remote, but it cancels as soon as I recycle the locks. I really like having the chipped key. I've never heard of any truck with the chipped key being driven off by a thief. I'm not sure if the chipped key is part of the dealer accy kit or not.

With the factory security system using the key to unlock the door disables the alarm.

It works fine for me. I had the dealer install it free as part of the deal I made when I bought the truck. That gives it the 7 year warranty (I bought the extra years).
