2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Factory Fog Light Install Question

I just purchased the "Factory Fog Light Kit" for my 99. It appears that some (if not all) of the wiring is already installed for fog lights on my truck. Has anyone installed the "add-on" kit and used the factory wiring harness already there? The kit comes with all new wiring, relay, etc. and says it does not use the wiring already in place. Why can't the factory installed wiring be used and a relay be added to the Power Distribution box?

I installed the factory kit in mine. I have read where some used the wiring in the truck. I used the wiring that came with the kit. My truck did not have wiring to the relay plug in the PDC or wiring at the light switch. I don't think it had any wiring where the lights go. Have fun. bg
