Has anyone ever rewired the factory fog lights with their own switch so they will come on any time (with no lights, parking lights, low beams, high beams)? I have already installed a switch for them and unplugged them from the back of the headlight switch and wired them to the new switch. Now they work by themselves (no other lights on) and with parking lights and low beams (like they work from the factory), but the high beams still shut them off. I can probably cut the existing wires down by the lights and then run wires directly to the new switch with an inline fuse. I am just wondering if anyone has done this with the existing wiring. I like to use the foglights with the highbeams on dark back roads (I had a 1993 Dodge Dakota that I had done this with) because it actually provides some good additional light. If anyone has any ideas on this, I'd appreciate it.

First of all - welcome to the TDR. Great stuff!

For fog lamps with high beams, pull the fog lamp relay in the Power Distribution Center (PDC) under the hood. Make a short jumper to connect the two LARGE pins. Enjoy lighting up the night. I think this should still work with the mods you've made.
