Well I just replaced my rear wheel speed sensor to get my abs and brake light off and now I am having problems w/ my speedometer. I don't know if replacing the sensor caused the gauges to malfuction or not cause I think the speedometer was already screwin up a little before I changed the sensor. This is what happens just about every day now. My engine tach either dies or gets stuck on an rpm then my speedometer goes to zero. And sometimes all the instruments read zero after both the tach and speedometer fail. Would replacing the crank speed sensor help any of this? How is that thing supposed to be mounted? Is it supposed to touch the harmonic balancer?

Thanks

Rick

I had the same problem with a 98 Jeep wrangler. The dealer pulled the instrument cluster and cleaned the contacts added some electic lube (?). That fixed it. Next time it acts up, hit the bottom of the dash with your palm and see if it comes back to normal. If it does, that is the problem.

Have you had your instrument cluster out lately? Right after buying my truck I was replacing a few lightbulbs. When I was removing the cluster I accidentally tore the green circut board thingy down where the low washer bulb goes. I figured well I dont need that bulb anyway. (stupid moment number 12,893)

I put it all back togther and no instruments worked. I patched it back togther and all is well now.

Well hitting the thing didn't work. Whenever I restart the truck everything starts working again. I guess I am gonna have to tear out my dash pretty soon.
