I was wondering how much life could one expect out of the factory injectors? I am not one that likes to go off and replace something until it is broken or significantly worn. I am sure this is a loaded question but I would appreciate any information on this. I have performed a search and could find anything that answers my question. I do tow on occasion and will be towing more as my wife and I are purchasing a goose neck 3 horse slant. I would like more power but I would really like more MPG. I am purchasing a new transmission and FASS as soon as income tax check comes in. Thank you for any information.

I have 166,584+ miles on my '99 OEM injectors with no problems. I think that is why the truck won't smoke much... stock injectors too small!:D

Joel, I'm new to the Dodge Cummins thing, bought my truck in July of '02, but Ive worked for a Cat dealer for 21 years, 14 as a mechanic, and they used to suggest to PM the injectors at 6000 hrs. along with a bearing roll-in, oil pump, turbo, & water pump. If you convert 6000 hrs at 50 mph, it equals 300,000 miles. Remember this was for off-highway equip. , more dirt, load, etc. . I think our injectors should be fine unless you get smoke, fuel dilution, low boost/power or time for overhaul.

Thank you for the information MVieira and rashwor. I appreciate it. I think I will hold off on injectors for awhile. I am starting to get a bug thou to modify my truck. I want more power.
