I've seen quite a few brand new Ram trucks for sale on dealer lots with lift kits already installed. Does anyone know the brand/make of the lift kits the dealers install? Does having the lift do anything to the warranty? I'd really like to lift my truck a few inches, but there doesn't seem to be too many options available.

There are probably dozens of kits on the market, and if they are not using Mopar stuff they most likely are using the one that provides the most mark up opportunity. As with any other aftermarket part or accessory, it can have some affect on the warranty depending on the failure. Just because the dealer installed it before the sale does not mean you are in the clear.

My truck rides nice and smooth. I wouldn't want to mess up the factory suspension and nice comfy ride.

I'm glad your truck rides nice and smooth and it's a nice comfy ride. How many miles do you have on it? How much time do you spend in it driving?

You think it's smooth until you ride in a truck with modified rear leafs.
Hopefully,Don or Sage will release a set for the 4th guys.
I'm sure the rear coil trucks ride pretty nice.

I have driven it 55+ hours this month. 2000 mile trip pulling a trailer and some other errands.

Wife loves the ride too.

Truck has 15,700 miles on it.

That's not too far off, I usually drive 40-45 hours a week and 1500-2000 miles a week. That's just driving to and from work and messing around on weekends. For me, this trucks suspension has a long way to go to be nice and smooth or comfy.

It is nicer-riding than our Mazda and my former Mitsubishi.

My point was that lifting the suspension will likely reduce suspension travel and make it harsher riding

I will agree with you on the Mazda and Mit comparisons. I am not looking to go big with a lift, just 2-2.5". I really need to make this truck ride smoother. Right now it's like an old meat wagon.

Ok, you're right. The 3500 has a heavy duty front suspension which was upgraded in 2013. The 2500 (my truck ) has the old suspension from 2012 which has a nicer ride. They had to stiffen the front suspension so it wouldn't dip forward when trying to stop the 38,000 GCVW rating. 3500 might also have a Xtra stiffness in the rear in terms of an extra leaf or stiffer coil.

BDS is what I would recommend. They make a well engineered 4" lift that has progressive rate front coils that are side specific. I had a RevTech on my 2010 and it was harsh riding and noisy.

I have the following 4" Kit with Fox Shocks, and a 2" rear lift block that give the truck a leveled stance on my 2014. I also have Air Lift air bags as well in the rear.

If the dealer sells the truck with the lift I would expect them to warranty it at that dealer. But you might run it to issues at another dealer. I myself have never had a denial of warranty with any of my lifted trucks. The biggest lift I have had was 4.5" and 35" tires. I have had tie road ends, u-joints and etc replaced under warranty. I am sure someone will pipe in here and tell you how they were denied and why would you ever want to mess with the factory look. I understand and TDR use to be a good place for information about this stuff, but you might find more of what your looking for on the Cummins Forum now.

Nice truck!

CBrandt, thanks for the info and you have a very nice looking truck. I actually went with Thuren coils and shocks. It's a night and day difference in ride quality.

I believe there is a huge difference in dealership attitude towards aftermarket add ons from Akaska to the lower states. My brother lives outside of Fairbanks. He has an '09 with a full Carli setup and running 37's. He runs a Smarty and I believe full deletes. Brings his truck to the dealer there and everything is covered, not one question asked.

I've experimented with pressures ranging from 45 lbs to 70lbs. Since these factory tires are garbage anyway, I'm really not too worried about wear with too low or too high of pressures. The smoothest ride I could achieve with the factory setup was 60 in the front and rears.

So when is Ram going to come out with a kit where a truck can be lowered to make it more usable to folks who actually use their trucks........... I guess an expensive air suspension is the only answer.

So we with lifted trucks don't actually use them??? Interesting.

Nice!! I would love to have my truck lifted. It's just a bit to low for me. However my 5th wheel wouldn't sit level if I did. I had 4" frame lift installed to level it out when I had the '01. The best I could do on my '14 was a 2" leveling block on the front end.
