Truck originally had Dodge am/fm cassette.

I have lost both door speakers.

Is there a connector under the dash that handles only the front door speakers?

There are two connectors(gray and black) on the back of the radio. Each have one lead of the each pair. I found the connector for the back speakers, but not for the front. Is there one?

Before I start cutting the harness, I thought I would ask.

Scot,

Both mine went south some time ago, I went out and bought two new ones and installed them then I was back in business. Are you having problem's between the speakers and the radio? There are leads in one of those plugs but I don't recall which ones go to the door speakers:confused:

My fronts have gone south as well, so I put in a deck with a remote and speakers. I got tired of always having to sit forward to change the dang station. Lazy I know. If you are putting in an after market deck and speakers, but using existing wiring you can get a conversion wiring harness from any car stereo shop that I found very helpful. But you will get better performance if you run new/better wires. Which I did with the fronts. I did keep the stock rear speakers and wires though, which is where the after market harness came in very helpful for me. If you are using the stock deck, I seem to remember that one of the connectors handles the power, ground, dimmer, etc. The other connector handles all of the speakers, but it was weird b/c I think there were only 6 wires instead of 8. Each speaker has it’s own positive, but both fronts share a ground wire and both rears share a ground wire. Again, a conversion harness is cheap, clean, and makes life much easier.

Good Luck.

I installed the CD deck 4 years ago or so. I used the conversion harness. Evidently the splices where I cut factory wires in the doors to go to a regular spade type connector failed in both doors.

I guess I did not notice when the right side died, only when the left one did.

Thanks for the help.
