Factory recall, trailer hitch

Hi all. I know this subject was hashed out a while ago, but I just received my second notice from DC regarding the hitch repair. As I recall from the old posts, the repair is 2 plates, bolted on. Has anyone had any luck convincing DC of another way to repair/protect the hitch? What are your constructive thoughts? I've heard all the negative stuff about DC I need to. Thanks

MassMan had mine done a couple of months ago. I was very skeptical but now am satisfied with the work. If something breaks it will most likely be the frame. I read a lot of negative comments about the repair but after seeing it first hand feel good about it. Best advice would be for you to look at someone's truck who has had this performed.

Had mine done too, it is a good re-enforcement that they do, I feel much better with the bolting of the plates than I would with some jake leg welding on the hitch.

Had mine done too, is very OEM looking when completed. I am satisfied that it is a good fix.

Took mine in for the recall. Apparently if the trailer hitch is cracked up at all, they replace the entire hitch. Got a new hitch installed instead of the re-inforcements. No questions asked.
