Factory Reciever Tow Rating

Does anyone know how much the Factory reciever is designed to tow on a 2004 2500. I have a friend with a truck similar to mine that is towing approximately 14k with it. I couldn't find in the manual anywhere where it said the hitch capacity. What is the most anyone has towed with theirs? Any problems? Thanks, Joe

It says on the hitch that it will handle 12000 lbs and 1200 lbs tongue weight with a weight distributing system. Without 5000 and 500.
