2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Factory security system?

So what is the general opinion on our stock security system? I've got an 01. 5... ... ... ... ... . does it simply trip with doors opened? Or is there a glass breakage sensor (nah, don't want to test that)? How about a starter interrupt? Anyone know what all is included in this please let me know! Thanks... ... ... .....

Hehe... . In my case un-expected results.



Was getting gas for the boat and out of habit locked the doors when I got out. The GF, who stayed in the truck, opened the doors for me (being the sweetheart that she is) when I wanted to get back in. She did that from the inside door switch.



HONK HONK HONK ... HONK HONK HONK ... HONK HONK HONK ... HONK HONK HONK



After I got the dang thing to shut up, I started her up and 3 seconds later she quit (the truck engine ). After a few tries with the same result I had to get out the Owners Manual. Seems I was un-educated to some degree about such details.



Luckily, there was no line at the station. :-laf
