My truck is a 1991 Intercooled model. Or the 91. 5 as we all call them.

Would I be better suited to get a 1992 service manual? Or will the 91 manual cover the intercooled model as well.

I ask because I didn't know if the 92 model is closer to my truck than the early 91's. Intercooler, transmission, wiring etc all come to mind.

When I bought the 91. 5, I ordered manuals with the truck. It came with the big general repair manual and a seperate diesel and electric supplement, if I remember correctly? I have them packed away, as we are selling our house. I remember that Cummins Rocky Mountain carried those supplements and books in their store. Do you have a Cummins Dealer near you? I dont have the publication number. GregH

I assume you are talking about the Dodge manual? On the Cummins side the 92 would be closer, but wiring could be different. I have a 92 and a 93 Dodge manual but haven't seen a 91. Shadrach

I was wanting to buy a factory Dodge Mopar service manual. Which should cover the diesel... to some extent. I probably need the Cummins service manual from an Authorized Cummins Dealer as well. Although I do have a 1994 Cummin B-Series manual that covers many things on common repairs, torque values etc. Many of which probably apply to my B engine.

But mainly I was wanting to get the Mopar book. If the Cummins and Electrical are supplements... I'll have to make sure and get those.

The OEM Mopar manual I bought for my 99 2500 CTD included the Cummins engine related stuff right in it. It was also about 3 inches thick too! :)

Wiring was mainly my concern. I bet the wiring is very very similar. Its just that I've noticed colors change on wiring schematics from year to year... making diagnosis difficult at best if you don't have the right year.

I would get the 93 FSM, it covers back to the 91. 5 and is the only manual that covers the Getrag 360. In other words the 93 FSM has the most coverage of the 91. 5 - 93 pickups.

I got a '92 manual for mine and it covers everything for a lot less money than the '91. But it sounds like the '93 may do an even better job.

Sounds like the 93 is the one to have. Is it one unit (or book) or are there supplements that go with a main FSM? IE: When I call or order, do I have to ask for the electrical and diesel sections? Thanks for the advice!

Thats good to know! "New Ugly" is a '93! So where do I get one of those manuals? I'm gonna check at Cummins the next time I get to Henderson, Colorado. GregH

Geno's for about $100. Can't go wrong. I got the 93 manual as well, because it has the G360 overhaul in it.

Every time I look in there, I find something new. I can't believe how much info is in that book!

I have the 89, 92, 93 in paper and recently picked up the 93 on CD, I like the CD because it is searchable, makes finding things a lot easier.
