See a dealer parts counter. You want to get the 1997 Ram Truck service manual. It's about 4" thick, and mine was about $100 when I bought it in '97.

Looking at that book, it notes that "The MDS or DRB III" scan tool is used to diagnose the ABS system. It has wiring diagrams, and talks about what each component does. I don't see any follow the numbers diagnostic procedure, so I think the scan tool is the first place to start.

Which Factory Service manual do I need to properly diagnose my 4 wheel ABS.

Darn ABS light has been on for months.

1997 2500 4X4.

Thanks

I used black electrical tape to fix my constant CEL light on my '99. Affix it directly over light, problem solved. :) P. S. Baja fix.

I pulled the knee panel under the steering wheel, reached over and pulled the connector off the ABS controller on mine.

Mine I took to the stealership a couple years ago for the same problem. They said broken wire/loose connector at rear axle. Tried to charge 4 hour diag fee. $80 an hour.

I would definitly check the wiring first.
