I can't say how long the OEM shocks last. I replaced mine first thing with Bilstein 4600's. Not that I had a problem with the stock shocks, I didn't have them on long enough to know. I had a set of 4600's on my 2014 and I swapped them off before selling it. Typically the factory shocks are too weak for my tastes. Previous trucks have nosedived over speed bumps with stock shocks. Much less so with aftermarket. I had the 5100's on my last truck. I'm not sure why I didn't get them this time.

I've got 10K on my 2014 and it appears to be riding harsher that when new. Or I just getting soft with old age! What is the difference between 4600's and 5100's?

On my 2001 I changed them with less than 500 miles because the OEM were like solid rods. Put in Rancho 5000's and the went 100K.

As far as I know, the only differences are the 4600's are for "stock" trucks and the 5100's are for "lifted" trucks, the color, and the style of boot. The 5100's sold by Genos are for 0-1" lift for 2013-2015 Rams. I wonder if that extra 1" of travel would minimize the clunk I get when I hit a pothole with a front tire.

My '14 shocks were not good around 10K and got bad around 20K and were trashed at 30K. I replaced them with Thurens Overland shocks and coils. When these go bad, I'll replace with Fox.

I as well was thinking of getting some 5100. My truck has the factory air suspension in the back. Wonder if these will work. It says not for rear air suspension so I don't know what will fit in back but was thinking of getting some 5100 for front.

The shocks that came on my 15 RAM Dually are US Made Nitrogen shocks. I replaced the fronts with the Bilstein 4600's because the factory shocks had a bit of reverb? after hitting a sharp bump. The Bil's made a small improvement. They DO NOT make a shock for the rear air ride trucks. Even if they did I am not going to replace the rears since the rear rides great loaded or not.

The 4600's are for stock trucks. The 5100's are the EXACT SAME shock but are designed for stock up to a 2" lift.

I put 5100's on my latest 2013 . Runs a bit smoother when empty, but did not do anything under a load with the 5th wheel hitched.

My stock shocks suck. Had the fronts replaced at 8k and currently have 29k on the truck. Will be installing new ones soon. Probably bilstein from Genos.

Used the stock shocks on one loaded trip, it would bounce dangerously on bumpy corners. Replaced them with Rancho 9000's, like on my previous two Dodges. One set had 160k miles before I sold the truck. These have never failed me, but are guarinteed for life.

The damping adjustments really work for changing loads. I moved someones water logged cab over camper that weighed 3000 lbs and it bobbed dangerously at speeds above 45 mph. Turning the damping up 3/4 to full and it rode and drove like a sports car. Then I can turn it down to stock for running empty and it rides very plush.

I noticed most of these are 11's through 15's and I was surprised at that.

My old '06 had hers changed out at the 100k mileage because I thought it would be treating her right. The response when checking them indicated they are fine, so it's questionable if they needed it or not.

Mine along with the springs were overwhelmed by my popup in '06. I replaced with aftermarket the first couple of weeks. My wife who's not particularly strong could easily compress them. I tried to pay them forward and got no response.

I think I would like Rancho 9000's on the rear. They worked well on my 2001.5 and made a noticeable improvement in empty ride when turned down. I put Rancho 5000's on the front also. SNOKING

So RS999269 is listed for 2013 3500 4x4, however they do not list a 2014 or 2015 stock? Wouldn't they be the same 2013-2016. SNOKING

I sent a message to Rancho and received this answer.

"Thank you for contacting Rancho Suspension.

Unfortunately there is nothing listed in our catalogue for your aplication yet. Also, due the specifications on the 2013 model vs 2015, wouldn´t be the same part number for both.

For further questions or assistance, please contact technical assistance at 734-384-7804 M - F 8:30am - 5:30pm EST.

So the 3500 got the new frame in 2013 and something changed on my 2015????

So I called RANCHO tech support, what a bunch of jerks. Guy said they might be the same but they don't have any data yet to support that. Said I could call RAM and check part numbers and put them on if they were the same. However he said if I had a problem with them, they would not warranty them as they were not in his catalog for my truck!

So we have a company that sells adjustable shocks that we might want to install on a fairly new truck and are to lazy to do a little leg work to check on fit!

Monroe lists the same part numbers all the way around on the 2013 and 2015 3500's! I sent that message back to Rancho in a reply to their email, saying some people do not want to wait two years for them to play catch up! I will chill out now, but stupid companies p!$$ me off. SNOKING

They are Black! And I would know more how? SNOKING

Look on the boot it will say as seen in pic below. My shocks on my 11 Dually were POS and Made in Brazil.
