Factory singe CD to six disc CD

Does anyone know if it is a simple swap to change out my factory single cd player to a factory 6-disc in dash player.



I have seen some on e-bay and thought about making a swap. I just want to know if it is a simply take the old one out and plug the new one in type of thing.



What would a used one be worth, any ideas?

Personally, unless I got a *SCREAMING* deal on the 6 disk changer, I wouldn't bother.



Buy an aftermarket deck that will play MP3s. I moved the Alpine MP3 deck from my Heep to my CTD after I bought the CTD. 12-15 albums per disk (okay, I do use a low bitrate encoding. ) With the wiring harness adapter and mounting kit, it plugged right in.

I have the 6-CD radio in my 03, and it has far too much bass, a complaint I've seen before from others on this website. I have the treble completely advanced and the bass completely retarded -- and it's still hard to understand some people speaking. I'm swapping to a nav radio made by Alpine (single CD) which reportedly has much better sound.

Amen to that. Not only a deck that plays MP3's & WMA's, but that also has an Aux input jack (preferably on the front like the Sony decks). Then you can plug in an ipod or MP3 player, a satellite radio receiver, or any other device with an 1/8" output jack. There are several to choose from at crutchfield.com in the under $200 range. I have an Alpine like jkalchik does and I like it alot.
