BD Exhaust Brake - I'm puzzled about sticking relay.

My exhaust brake failed yesterday. Today it worked briefly then quit. Lots of clattering. I assume that the vacuum pump has failed. What else could it be?
I ordered a vacuum pump from Geno's, due wednesday 11/18. Next question can I drive the truck until the pump comes in? What other parts should I put in?
Your help is appreciated.

If the pump is making unusual noise, I wouldn't drive it without bypassing the pump belt. If the pump locks up, it cam break the belt and may send it into your radiator. Very costly.

Bypass Belt is the standard Belt for the truck. I have a post on here somewhere about that, I'll see if I can find it.

Same problem here. Installed Banks EB in 2007. 2nd replacement pmp failed now. Sounds like a wash machine full of scrap iron!! To the point - It cannot be bypassed because it replaces the OEM idler. I never thought to ask for my orig idler assy. for emergencies. I'm now on the hunt for a DC driven vacuum pmp. Wish me luck.

I see you have a banks. Mine is the Jacobs brand. I would still think it would mount in the same spot...
