Hook'em Horns

TV Series; "Wanted, Dead or Alive"

There real. My buddy had a couple. He used to toss a firecracker next to the pen to show everybody how they would faint. Pretty crazy looking.

Several years ago I saw a report on narcolepsy and one of the segments featured a Doberman that would just suddenly go to sleep.

In 1967 I helped a friend move from central Nebraska to Loveland, Colorado. I drove the moving truck because he had narcolepsy and could not drive it. What was strange to me is, he was a mail carrier for the postal service. Apparently his meds helped enough for the local stop and go stuff but not enough for the long haul.

Lol

there was a small herd in Uvalde Texas when i lived down there. . once when i drove by the fence of where they were, i honked the air horn and some jumped and scampered away and some merely froze up like they were dead, i almost pis$ed myself laughing so hard :-laf

What happens is when they are startled all of their muscles tighten up and they fall over especially if they are running. . The older ones have figured how to stay up with the tightened muscles so the youngers ones fall more often. I forget what the condition is called.

yup my buddie has one we mess with it all the time its real fun it will go stiff **** itself then fall over

So, when startled by a predator -- they become lunch...

Says a lot for natural selection.

Thats kinda their purpose when sheep or goat herders use them. Herd gets startled by wolves or coyotes they fall over and the predators get them and not the other sheep or goats. They also use llamas for protection too (if I remember right anyway).
