Fairbanks Shift Kits for 518 Trans

Any one modify their 518 trans with Fairbanks shift kit? I have a Fairbanks shift kit for 727 trans will it work on a 518 trans? Valve bodies are very similar. Thanks. 93 D350,k+n,modifications started.

Rick, I don't think the valve bodies are too similar. I've been doing research myself and was going to start a topic on this. The only shift kit I know of is from B&M and is hard to find (I think Turbo Action makes one too). One thing you can do in the mean time if the transmission is lazy is to turn up the line pressure a little bit, this seemed to help me.

93 also, icalled B&M they don't sell a kit for the 518, TransGo does make a kit, it's the same kit that fits the 94+ trucks you just leave out a few parts... ... ... ... Rick D
