This being our first Cummins, I just realized that my truck is missing the fake valve cover. Would anyone have one laying around that they would want to get rid of??????
I think it would clean up the engine compartment alot... .

Thanks
Rick

Rick,

Do you mean the aluminum plate that fastens to the top of the six real valve covers?

The Cummins chrome dress up kit includes six chrome valve covers with no top plate. Most just install the six chrome valve covers and leave it at that although, I've seen several that have reinstalled the OE top plate.

Rick,

I have one that I'm not using. If you want it e-mail me. You might consider painting the valve covers you have. I think Andy painted his red. The chrome kit without the top plate really looks good on mine. Actually, I think even without the top plate the engine looks better and more business like.

At first I was thinking "what the heck are fake valves?" #ad

Then I realized it was just some of those undervalved guys cross posting. #ad

Clearly a 12v powertrain issue- five lashes with the moderator's whip!

(All in fun, guys. #ad

Joe, Andy (Perreault) had his Cummins chrome valve covers and the remainder of the Cummins chrome kit powder coated blue over the chrome. The custom Cummins parts appear to be blue/chrome. Needless to say, Andy's 12v looks real sweet!

John,

Probably was someone else with the red then. Andy's rig sure looked good last year at MM. I wasn't able to go to it this year, but I did manage to run over for a couple of hours to see some friends yesterday. Chuck Goode really has a lot of chrome stuff on his '93. I think he knows someone with a chrome shop in the SF Bay Area. Even had the turbo housing done.
