Hello TDR Ontario!
I know it has been a long time coming, but we finally got the fall dyno day in order!
So, this fall we set out to address one of the complaints I have heard, and experienced personally: Dynos that don’t give accurate readings. Due to the design of our motors, many people with performance applications cannot fully spool their turbo on a gas vehicle dyno. Due to cost, this is what most shops have. What is used for diesels is called a load dyno. A load dyno has the ability to mimic real world road conditions by applying a braking force to the dyno roller drums. This simulates having a trailer behind your truck and as well all know, we see our peak boost under towing conditions. So the Ontario TDR club VP took a trip there to test it and found that Taylor’s setup gave him better boost numbers and as a result, better HP/TRQ figures. Shawn also found Taylor’s to be a class A facility as well doing everything from tune-ups to full injection pump rebuilding.
So, we would like to invite everyone to the Fall 2011 Ontario TDR dyno at Taylors Diesel in Hamilton, Ontario on Sunday, October 30. The cost will be $50. 00 per truck and will include two pulls on the dyno (one for peak HP and one for peak TQ), a weighing of your truck on the calibrated Taylor weigh scales, a coupon for two free pulls within the next 12 months, and a chance at winning one of the many prizes. Also included is a BBQ lunch and tours of the Taylor facility. There are a few other surprises in the works, but you will just have to come to the event to find out what they are!
For more information on Taylor’s and their location, please see their website at: http://www.taylordiesel.ca/. The dyno day will run from 9-4 and as always, it is based on a first come first serve basis; and it is open to both TDR members and non members.
If you have any questions, you know where to find me!
Keep those trucks shiny side up!
