I drove through a puddle the other day and now my serpentine belt won't stop squealing. Tried putting on some belt dressing and the squeal went away for an hour but has now come back with a vengence, so loud in fact, that it makes my straight-pipe seem mild. It seems that this happens every 10,000 miles or maybe a bit less. Looking at the belt it looks worn but not cracked or shredded. The back of the belt is starting to show weave. Is this just a fact of owning a cummins, or is my truck eating belts quicker than normal?
