I'm doing a 4bt swap. I have 4. 5" between the fan hub and rad. I would prefer to use a thermostatic fan hub instead of an electric fan, but I can't find one thin enough. Has anyone run into this problem? Does anyone have suggestion?
I run 2 electrics from a late 80's park ave in my 96. The thermostatic switch was the most expensive part at about $40. 00. I don't tow but am running near 400 hp and haven't had any problems. It never goes above 190. Chevy and Dodge have slim fans that would fit.
Power Stroke intercooler and a 28x19 aluminum radiator. I had to get everything moved as far back as possible to get it to fit behind the grille, and there was barely enough room for an electric fan, let alone an engine driven one. :{ No matter, as I have yet to see temps go over 180, unless stopped in traffic for more that 10-15 minutes. And that is also the ONLY time the fan ever comes on.
